1. Can EConsort be installed on a local web server?
No. EConsort is available as a centralized web service. The database, the website and the files are running on a central server infrastructure. By hosting EConsort on one server, problems related to licenses for background software only have to be paid once. The software code updates are immediately available for all users. Backup and download features are available so users can download the data at any time.
2. How long does it take to set up an EConsort instance?
A new instance of EConsort can be initiated within 1 day. When setting up an instance the administrator receives 1 login to the system with which he/she can customize all aspects of the system to his/her own needs.
3. How long does it take to make an instance fully operational?
Experiences with the running instances on EConsort show that within 2 weeks all aspects can be activated by the administrator.
4. For which kind of programmes can EConsort be used?
EConsort is currently implemented for Erasmus Mundus Action 1 a & b programmes as well as for Erasmus Mundus Action 2 programmes. Other international educational programmes can also be managed using the system.
5. What is the cost of using EConsort?
The current price for using EConsort is set at 3000 euro (excluding VAT) per year for programmes not coordinated at Ghent University. For this price all functionalities are available for the user including licences of server software, server space, backups, server infrastructure, documentation and help files. Users are also invited to a yearly organized training session. All updates and new features that are developed are available for all users.
